In Apple's IOS 8 notifications work a little different then before.
One of the big differences is that you can now reply to a text message right from the notification.
Apple calls this an actionable notification.
And here's how it works.
From the lock screen, when a text comes in, slide to the left and hit the reply button and you can type or speak your response.
When the phone's unlocked and a notification comes in, pull down on it and it's.
See an option to reply.
For other notifications such as appointments or reminders you can now swipe to take action and as more apps update to take advantage of interactive notifications you'll be able to use them to easily favorite a tweet.
Or like a Facebook status.
