The first Sony 8K TVs are really, really big at CES 2019

David Katzmaier here at Sony's big booth at CES 2019.
And this is a big TV back there.
It's an 85 inch Z9G, brand-new for 2019.
It's Sony Sony's first 8K TV, if think that's big, right next to it is the 90 inch Z9G.
Again, an 8K resolution television.
And before you ask, no there is no 8K content right now.
So what Sony is doing is they are talking up their processing, their up-conversion.
Taking that 4K content, turning it into their 8K resolution on screen.
So they are pretty good at that, we'll see how this thing tests out when we actually look at it, if we can fit it into the lab This thing is absolutely gigantic.
It has Sony's master series chops, which is full array local dimming.
This TV can pretty much check off all the picture quality boxes.
It has wide color gamut.
It can handle HDR, Dolby Vision, the whole nine.
Of course the big thing about this TV is its size, 85 inch and 98 inch TVs are not cheap.
No idea how much they're gonna charge for this thing, when it's actually gonna come out in 2019, but it's not gonna be Sony also introduced some new OLED TVs, again very high-end televisions, smaller, 4K resolution, 55, 65, and 77-inch.
Those TVs are pretty similar to what they were like last year with the Master series, they have an acoustic surface design with a cool screen that serves as the speaker which is pretty cool.
They also have a slimmer design than last year, but otherwise very similar to what we've seen in the past Sony's also building in Google Assistant without having to talk to the mic, so it's a far field microphone built in the televisions.
That's pretty cool if you wanna use their smart TV system.
So Sony's got the high end TVs this year.
8K resolution LCDs, some 4K OLEDs.
