Amazon beefs up Ring privacy with Home Mode feature

The other thing that we've done with cameras is, we want to ensure that customers have control with the cameras that they have, and when they can record. Ring, earlier this year, with the door view cam, announced a privacy feature called privacy zones. So that if your doorbell camera's facing out, and it might be seeing a public place You as the user can exclude the sidewalk to say, so that never gets recorded to the cloud. More recently that we've added a toggle to the ring app that allows customers to completely turn off audio recording if they so choose. And later this year in November we'll be adding a new feature to all the ring cameras called home mode. Which allows customers to set their devices in home when they're there and have no recording of audio or video when they're at home.
