Alexa can now give commute updates, severe weather alerts
Amazon's AI just got a little smarter.
Amazon's virtual assistant has learned a few new tricks. Alexa can not only control your home, but it also can help you get to work on time.
Alexa has added commute info and severe weather alerts, according to a monthly update Amazon posted Wednesday. Users can ask the smart assistant details about traffic conditions and directions to their destination. That info can then be sent to their phone. Alexa users can also now say, "Alexa, tell me when there's a severe weather alert."
Other new features added over the past month include commands to get NBA highlights and to receive updates on the 2020 election.
