DAVE update for OS X 10.1 coming We have previously noted that DAVE does not work in Mac OS X 10.1. A fix is on the way. DAVE 3.1 for Mac OS X is currently in beta testing and, according to the developer, "is supported for running on Macintosh OS X 10.1." A beta tester confirms success: "It works through Command-K in the Finder, all nice and simple, works great too. OS X.1 compatibility is perfect."

OmniWeb Replies remain mixed to yesterday's report of OmniWeb crashing in OS X 10.1 after installing the OS X Security Update. Several users say they have no problems here at all, while others confirm it (some noting it occurred even before the Security Update). One reader adds: "The bug is not present in OmniWeb 4.1 sneakypeek 4." However, another found this not to be the case. At this point, it is probably best for us to let this matter rest until the next version of OmniWeb is out.

Mel Martin suggests: "I think you'll find you do not get the crash if Mail is running. However, if you quit Mail, then get the crash, launching Mail does not eliminate it. Once the crash on close starts, only a restart fixes it. If Mail is running first, then OmniWeb, you can open and close all day.
