Acrobat 5 hang caused by prefs file?

MS Intellimouse Driver launches Classic: a fix John Robokos writes: "A bug with Microsoft's Intellimouse drivers causes the OS 9 Classic control panel to start up in OSX instead of the native OSX application. A quick fix for this is to simply rename the Microsoft Mouse control panel in OS 9 to something like Microsoft Mouse (Classic)."

Acrobat 5 and spinning beach ball caused by prefs? Following up on a report last week, Russell Cody writes: "I have had the same problem with Acrobat 5.0 basically freezing up with the colored beach ball spinning endlessly. Force Quit was the only solution. I finally trashed the Prefs.plist in preferences and the symptoms stopped."

Update: Alan Claver writes: "I also had the spinning ball problem. My was solved by updating to the latest version of Acrobat 5 (v5.05) from the version I had (v5.0)."

Update: Several readers confirm that Acrobat v5.05 solves a problem with the spinning beachball and later versions of Mac OS X. (Acrobat 5.0 was delivered as part of the original OS X release, however it appears that subsequent updates must be obtained manually from Adobe.)
