106464: Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a Startup Issue is an updated version of this article that provides steps to follow if your computer experiences a blue screen, gray screen, kernel panic, flashing question mark, or otherwise stops responding when starting up Mac OS X. Of note, it pretty much confirms the problem with the blue screen freeze that we recently noted in our Mac OS X 10.1 Journal. The KB article states: "If an Ethernet cable is attached, temporarily disconnect it and restart. If you have configured NetInfo information, you may need to edit it with the NetInfo Manager application."

106500: Mac OS X 10.1: F12 Is Eject and Tray Opening Key notes that, in Mac OS X 10.1, the F12 key ejects discs from optical media drives (CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, and combination drives). It will also open and close an empty drive tray. So far, so good. The potential problem is that applications that would normally use the F12 key for some other purpose, no longer recognize it. The F12 is now dedicated to its optical media function and cannot be changed. Apple states: "While this provides functionality for keyboards that do not have a dedicated Eject key, Apple is aware that this behavior can be an issue in a< variety of situations in which F12 would otherwise be used. Check this document for future updates on this behavior."

106546: Mac OS X 10.1: Re-enter Mail Password After Upgrade Article notes that, after updating to Mac OS X 10.1, when you check for new mail, a dialog box may appear with this message: "Please enter the password for the user 'username' on the host 'mailservername.'" The solution is to re-enter the password for this account, and select the checkbox for "Remember my password."
