Japanese version of Yamaha updater may succeed where US version fails

Rick Camp tried the latest 1.0g firmware upgrade for the Yamaha CRW4416S. The result (which does not occur in all cases!) was a "disaster, resulting in a frozen unit the had both LED indicators a solid red, no functions working and no way to access or even load a CD." He received authorization to send the unit back for replacement. However, before doing so, Yamaha tech support suggested that he try the version of the update at the Japanese Yamaha web site. The firmware update had a different name than the American site version - but it worked! Ric was able to flash the drive successfully and avoid having to return the unit. [Note: as of this writing, I was unable to get the Japanese site to load.]
