Epson: OS X scanner drivers due within 90 days

A reader sent us a copy of a message he received from Epson on the status of at least some of their scanner drivers. Michael Dinsmore writes:

I sent $3.99 to Epson about 6 weeks ago to participate in their program that promised OS X drivers for their scanners--in my case, the Epson 1250 Perfection. Today, I received my first response. From Epson:

'In order to afford the greatest level of compatibility, Epson is coordinating the release of their MAC OS X drivers with the planned release of the MAC OS X compatible versions of the major Image Editing software packages. This should take place within the 90 days.'"

Update: A reader pointed out EPSON Scan to File, available from Epson's Web site. The unsupported application can make scans with some Perfection and Expression scanners under OS X.
