How to hide the Newsstand icon in a folder on iOS
Hide your empty Newsstand icon in a folder on your iOS device using this simple, jailbreak-free method.
There's that pesky Newsstand icon. Taking up space, never to be used on my iPhone.

When Apple fixed the bug that allowed us to hide the folder, it was only a matter of time before a non-jailbreak method made its way to the Internet.
As iDownloadBlog pointed out this morning, the solution is StifleStand, a Mac app (a Windows version is in the works) that creates a magical folder on your iOS device with Newsstand conveniently placed inside it. The best part is you don't have to worry about jailbreaking your iDevice for it to work. The process is carried out on your Mac with a single click.
You'll first need to download the StifleStand app from the developer, Filippo Bigarella's, site and open it on your Mac. Depending on your Gatekeeper settings you may be alerted the app is from an untrusted source. If that does happen, you can right-click on the app and select Open.
Connect your iOS device to your computer, and then click on Hide Newsstand.
Newsstand will then be placed in an empty folder titled Magic. You won't see the Newsstand icon in the folder, but once you open it you'll see the icon. You can then rename, move, and fill this folder as you would any other iOS folder. If you change your mind, simply tap and hold on the Newsstand folder and move the icon out of the folder.

If you run into issues, make sure your Newsstand is empty. I was able to hide the icon on my iPhone 5 on the first try, but on my iPad, which has a magazine in Newsstand, I wasn't able to hide the icon until it was empty.
