Send texts from your computer with MightyText
Use your computer or tablet to send and receive text messages normally handled by your phone.

MightyText is similar to iMessage, except for Android. You can send SMS from your computer or tablet (all you need is a Web browser), and still use your own phone number. You'll also be able to screen incoming calls by seeing the caller information on the computer. This is also a great way to stay in touch with friends and family if you forget your phone at home or work and can't run off to get it right away.
Note: You will need a Google account to use this app. The account is used for syncing access from the phone to the computer.

First you'll need to install MightyText on your Android smartphone. Then, open the app and select your desired Google account and then press Complete Setup. You will need to grant permissions to the app in the next screen that displays.
Next you need to choose how you want to access MightyText on your computer or tablet. If you're going the computer route: browser extensions are offered for Chrome and Firefox, but if you're not looking to add yet another feature to your Web browser, try the Web app. Also, if you're on a Mac, you'll also need to install the Growl notifications.

Two awesome features are the ability to sync your Google contacts so the names will pop up automatically and MMS support. That's right, send pictures from your PC via your SMS plan on the phone.
