Use Nextcall to schedule calls, point out neglected contacts on Android

Ever wonder how often you contact someone in your address book?

You could keep your call logs for months at a time, but chances are your phone wouldn't appreciate that too much. Instead, take a look at Nextcall.

This app will help you see how long it has been since you were in touch with someone. Additionally, it will let you schedule calls with someone every X days or weeks. This can come in handy if you need to remember to follow up with someone for business. Sure, you could add them to your calendar and get a reminder, but it might get lost among all the other things you have scheduled. Here's how to get started:

Step 1: Download and install Nextcall on your Android device. Once installed, run the app.

Step 2: Click on the Add Contact image in the app.

Step 3: Configure how the app will categorize each contact.
You will be brought to a list of your contacts and each will have an icon next to their name that can be toggled. A white icon indicates that the app is not tracking this contact. A gray icon with a tie indicates that the contact is being tracked as a business contact, and a gray icon with no tie is a personal contact.

Step 4: Go back to the main screen of the app. Swipe from the right to the left over a contact in this list to see options. From here, press on the Edit button.

Step 5: With the buttons that appear, you can tell the app how frequently you want to be reminded to call the given contact, and for what reason.

Overall this is a very useful tool for seeing who you need to contact and who you've basically forgotten about. If a lot of your business depends on keeping in touch, then Nextcall could be a much appreciated tool for you.

What do you think? Should we need to schedule out calls and remind ourselves to call some of the people in our contact collection?
