Setting up an Asus Transformer Pad TF300

Let's see what's involved in setting up an Asus Transformer Pad TF300 Android tablet.

Set up an Asus Transformer Pad TF300

It is my sincere hope that this post makes up for some of the benign deceit I've been involved with for the past few years here at CNET. Typically when a new product rolls in the door, we're quick to show you an unboxing, and we'll follow that up with a formal First Look video, but we tend to gloss over the nuts and bolts of setting things up.

Arguably, we've been sparing you the boring, unsexy business of setting up your tech. But I suspect that you're at least a little curious to see how it all works (or doesn't). Maybe you're an Apple guy who's never experienced an Android setup. Or maybe you're a devoted Windows user but you're curious how an Apple TV works. Well, I personally think it would be cool to show off more of these device setups, and so I'm kicking things off with this post.

My first guinea pig here is a product I know and love, the Asus Transformer Pad TF300. It's Asus' first tablet that runs the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android out of the box, and you can read all about it in CNET's full review.

Is it tough to set up? No, it's a breeze, really -- but that's not the point. The aim here is to show you what the setup is like. To demystify the process and share a few tips and tricks.

So check out the video, hit up the gallery for some extra details, and let me know what you think. I'm sure plenty of you will object to my tips or educate me on a better method for setup. That's fine. That's the kind of dialog I'd like to get going here, so let me know what you think.
