How to use face unlock on the Galaxy Nexus

Face unlock is a new feature to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; here's how to set it up on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The face unlock feature on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus may not be the most secure method to keep your data safe, but it's still fun to see in action.

You can set up face unlock on the Galaxy Nexus in a few simple steps.

  1. Go to Settings and tap on Security.
  2. Select Screen Lock
  3. Tap on Face Unlock
  4. Follow the rest of the prompts on the screen to complete the setup process. Once you are done, you will be asked to enter either a pattern or a pin code as a backup unlock method should there be any issues with the device recognizing your face.

To see the complete workflow of the setup process, make sure to watch the video above.

What are your thoughts on this futuristic feature? Is it merely a gimmick, or is this something you can see yourself using once the security issues are rectified?
