How to play videos from Google Docs on Android

Use your Google account to store videos for watching on your mobile devices.

Since Google Docs doesn't require you to sign up for yet another cloud storage account, it's the perfect place to host some of your files.

And what better files to host than videos--ones you can play on your mobile Android devices? Here's how to get started:

Step 1: Log in to Google Docs and upload a video or two for later watching. Keep in mind you will need to adhere to the storage limits of your Google Docs account.

Step 2: Install the Google Docs app on your device and check that you have a decent Internet connection for video playback (Wi-Fi is the best option, but 3G or 4G will work, too).

Step 4: Locate your video in the list or click the magnifying glass to search for it by name.

Step 5: Tap on the video you want from the list and it will begin to play.

You can turn the device into landscape mode for a better viewing experience. Also, if you need the video controls back on the screen, simply touch anywhere and they will pop back up.

Now you can enjoy a free way to stream media you already own to your Android devices. Do you know of any other clever ways to get video content on your Android devices? Share it in the comments.
