How to install App Store purchases on multiple Macs
Keeping track of purchased apps on a Mac can be a pain. Thankfully the Mac App Store makes the process virtually painless. Apple allows you to install Mac App Store purchased apps on up to five different computers; we will show you how to make the process as simple as possible.

The Mac App Store has changed the way most OS X users discover and buy apps for their Macs. One of the best features of the Mac App Store is that it follows the same rules of the iOS App Store, allowing users to install a any downloaded app on up to five different devices.
Follow along as we show you how to install purchases on multiple machines, as well as reinstall apps you have uninstalled.

In order to install an app you have already paid for, open the App Store on the Mac you wish to install the app on, and click on the Purchases icon.

Here you will see a list of all App Store downloads your Apple ID has tied to it, both free and paid alike. Here you will be able to easily view which apps are currently installed on the Mac you are using, as well as which ones aren't.
To install one of the apps listed here, all you would have to do is click on Install. Enter your Apple ID password if prompted, and the App Store takes care of the rest. You can do this on up to five different Macs without having to purchase the app again.
The process would be identical for an app you had previously uninstalled, and want to reinstall.
One last small tip regarding the Purchases section of the Mac App Store. From time to time an update for an app may have been announced as being available in the App Store, yet it doesn't show up in the Updates section.
If you go to the Purchases tab, and find the app that has been updated, you are likely to find that the Install button is no longer grayed out. Click on Install and it will download and install the update for you.
