When the smartphone phenomenon Flappy Bird took off not so long ago -- and before it morphed into something uncontrollable and became its own hard-to-swallow lesson for the game industry -- it was as if everyone you'd ever known had suddenly stumbled on mobile gaming's most brilliantly manufactured drug. Facebook and Instragram were awash in high score screenshots and admissions of addiction-fueled guilt while all of Twitter might as well have been Flappy Bird references with some news and global chatter sandwiched in between.
One particularly interesting boast from a friend of mine, who had hit … Read more
Threes is part math and part matching game as you slide numbers to make multiples of three while trying to get the highest score possible. At first blush, it doesn't seem very exciting, but once you hear the music and sound effects and get into the flow of the game, it can be incredibly addictive.
What's amazing about Threes is that it came out only one day before this review, but it's currently sitting at No. 1 in the paid app listings at the App Store. I think once you start playing and get to know the … Read more

The image of the emblematic smartphone game has not been held in high regard of late. Certainly not with titles like Flappy Bird seemingly taking over the world, earning $50,000 a day off our meaningless compulsions and further cementing the well of condescension "hardcore" gamers have for the mobile platform and its capacity.
That's where Threes comes in. Released Wednesday as a universal iPhone and iPad app, the $1.99 title -- a simple math-based puzzler with gorgeous design and catchy music -- is what an overtly refreshing, downright fantastic mobile game should be.

In the 1950s the Morgan Three Wheeler went out of production thanks to lack of interest and lack of steel (blame WWII for that one), leaving Morgan to concentrate on four-wheeled motor cars. That is until 2011, when the company revealed a Three Wheeler for the modern age.
This time round it was to be a fun Read more, an indulgence for those with the readies. It cost 30,000 pounds off the bat, and the car has a myriad of options to drive that cost up. In essence, the thing that used to be a mainstay of movement has now …
Normally we chaps at MotorPunk Magazine don't need much of an excuse to do a road trip, but with Armistice Day on the calendar, we thought we ought to do something over and above the usual hoon.
Captain Albert Ball was one of Morgan Cars' earliest customers for its iconic Three Wheeler. He ordered a special Grand Prix model in 1917, shortly before he met his end in a dogfight with Lothar von Richthofen, the brother of the Infamous Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen, over the fields of northern France. He was one of Britain's leading fighter aces. … Read more
The French government has scrapped a provision that could cut off Internet access for those who downloaded copyrighted files illegally.
The so-called "three strikes" law brought first written warnings for infringement, then ultimately suspension of Internet access. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) applauded the law.
But the French government is now taking a new approach, focusing its antipiracy efforts on commercial piracy, such as Internet sites that profit from infringing, rather than individuals, according to a statement by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication Tuesday.

I heard through the grapevine that the Mal Valve Head Amp Three takes headphone sound to the next level, so I had to check it out for myself. I brought two of my best headphones to the Audioarts NYC showroom to audition the amp, and it really was an ear opener. "Space" was the first thing I noticed, the Mal Valve decodes spatial cues in recordings better than any amp I've heard to date; and the resolution, clarity, and purity of the sound were all superlative via my Audeze LCD 3 headphones. The Mal Valve frees up … Read more
