Evernote, the popular note-taking app available on the Web and on mobile devices, has some new security features.

The company announced the new features on its blog on Thursday, saying that it's now offering three security tools that it didn't before. Google Keep note-taking comes to Chrome

Google Keep wants to be the app that you dump all your little notes and big thoughts into, and Google introduced a Keep Chrome Web app version on Thursday.

To install it, you must use the link above, as it's not yet available by searching the Chrome Web Store.

Like Keep in Google Drive and Keep for Android, it lets you write notes in a stripped-down interface that lacks all but the most basic features. In addition to standard note-taking, you can change the text color or insert an image.

Get started with Google Keep

Google just made an announcement introducing Keep, its new note-taking service. Keep is currently available for devices running Android 4.0.3 and up, or through the Google Drive Web site. Notes will automatically sync between the Web site and the Android app.

After installing the Android app you'll be prompted to select the Google account you want to use with Keep. Once that's done, you can begin keeping notes. There are four different methods you can use to enter a note:

Google Keep note-taking app spotted

Google could be working on a note-taking application.

Google+ user 1E100 yesterday revealed that a new note-taking application, known as Google Keep, had been discovered in the many places the search company hides products it's working on. 1E100 described a series of places Keep was discovered, including on Google's Products page, in Google Drive, and as part of the search giant's sandbox, where it tries out new products.

According to 1E100, Google might also be working on an Android app, as evidenced by a special URL that points to the application.

Movie studios target mobile apps for copyright infringement

After targeting Web sites for copyright infringement for years, Hollywood is now setting its sights on mobile apps, according to Reuters.

Time Warner, Walt Disney, Sony, Viacom, and Twentieth Century Fox have all recently sent app "take down" notices to Google. Citing copyright infringement, these studios are demanding that the Web giant remove apps that use the likeness of characters in their movies or TV shows.

Carl Icahn ups stake in Take-Two, now owns nearly 10 percent

Carl Icahn's interest in Netflix hasn't stopped him from making strategic investments elsewhere.

Just yesterday, a host of Icahn organizations, including Icahn Partners and Icahn Master, bought up about 500,000 shares in Take-Two Interactive to increase his ownership to 9.57 percent. Icahn, who previously owned about 8.7 percent of Take-Two, has invested an aggregate total of $79.9 million in the company.
