NEW YORK--Legendary businesswoman Martha Stewart wanted to post to her Twitter account from a panel discussion onstage on Wednesday, and she couldn't. A particularly nasty edition of one of Twitter's notorious service outages got in the way.

Stewart, along with Huffington Post founder and new-media figurehead Arianna Huffington, was participating in an onstage interview conducted by veteran tech journalist Kara Swisher at the "Digital Content NewFront," an annual event conducted by ad agency Digitas as part of Internet Week New York. Nikon announces D60 pricing

Just on the heels of the camera's official announcement, Nikon has now announced official pricing for its new 10.2MP entry-level dSLR. The camera, which will be available in stores in February 2008, will cost about $750 for a kit that includes the camera body, as well as an 18-55mm lens with Nikon's Vibration Reduction optical image stabilization.

Nikon's original announcement of the D60 said that pricing would be available 30 days prior to the camera's availability. Since January has 31 days, and February has 29 days this year, thanks to the joy of the leap … Read more

Apple eyes MacBook's underside

To all of you who've been craving an ultraportable MacBook: Steve Jobs hears you.

Gizmodo and a few other sources are pointing to two Apple patent applications, published today, as evidence that a smaller MacBook (or MacBook Pro) will be forthcoming. The applications describe an optical disc drive that's accessible via the bottom of a laptop and a novel "access system" for removing discs from the upside-down drive. Why put the drive on the bottom of the laptop? To clear up room for more ports along the edges of an ever-thinner-and-smaller laptop, of course.
