Jon Leibowitz announced today that he is resigning from his post as the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission. His announcement comes after presiding over both the investigation and settlement of Google's antitrust probe.

Leibowitz plans to leave his position by mid-February, according to The New York Times.

"I felt like this was a good time to leave because we got through a number of things that I wanted the commission to address," he told the newspaper.

Advanced Micro Devices announced the resignation today of Chief Financial Officer Thomas Seifert, sending the company's stock down 8 percent.

Seifert, who had been with the chipmaker for three years, had briefly served as the company's interim chief executive officer last year after the resignation of CEO Dirk Meyer in January 2011. Seifert returned to his position as CFO in August 2011 when AMD named Rory Read, the former president and chief operating officer of the Lenovo Group, as its new CEO.

At least four Zynga executives have resigned this month, including a vice president of mobile, Bloomberg reported today.

That's more bad news for the company as it continues to struggle with making money on the quickly growing mobile platform.

Ya-Bing Chu, a vice president in the company's mobile division, and Jeremy Strauser, a general manager, resigned this month, unnamed sources told Bloomberg.

Their departures follow that of Erik Bethke, a general manager of Mafia Wars 2, and Alan Patmore, a general manager for CityVille -- both publicly revealed their departure from the company earlier this week.

Research In Motion announced today the resignation of its chief legal officer, the second high-level departure from the struggling phone maker in the past week.

Karima Bawa is leaving the handset maker after 12 years, RIM said. The company said it's known of Bawa's departure for some time and has already begun searching for a replacement chief legal officer.

Brian Dunn, chief executive of tech big box retailer Best Buy, resigned this morning.

"There were no disagreements between Mr. Dunn and the company on any matter relating to operations, financial controls, policies or procedures. There was mutual agreement that it was time for new leadership to address the challenges that face the company," according to the company's official statement.
