It's not actually a weapon, though it does have a trigger: This Batter Dispenser ($30) from Williams-Sonoma promises to neatly distribute perfect blobs of batter onto a hot griddle or waffle iron. You can choose among three different sizes of pancakes, and the catalog copy claims that even batters with small berries or chocolate chips will easily flow through the valve. Most importantly, the plastic device is dishwasher safe.

MuleCon Muffins--food matters at developer events

Our big MuleCon user event started yesterday and continues today, capped off with a Developer Campground that we are hosting with all of the worldwide Mule team attending and answering questions.

So far the event has been a big success and I have been too busy to blog. However, thanks to Cote, who is hosting a few sessions here I now have an update: the muffins and pastries are pretty delicious. Pictured to the left you'll see these oddly shaped (but tasty) mini-muffin loaves that have been the hit of the party.

Forget about phones and MP3 players--the next designer gadget is the toaster. And leading the way to branded nirvana are, of all things, sportscar dynasties.

Porsche joined the fray with a brushed-aluminum model that looks good enough for the track, and now Bugatti has gotten into the act with an appliance of its own. Yes, it's a toaster amp

Every once in awhile, Crave comes across an item that fulfills our mission in life. What, after all, could a gadget blog want more than a photo of a toaster turned into a guitar amp?

Thanks to "Hottie Amplifiers," we need look no further. These musical accoutrements, which Red Ferret says sell for $150, are made of the vintage twin-slot toasters of our youth. (Back in the days when toasters actually lasted more than a few months--yes, boys and girls, it's true.)
