AT&T Fusion 2 kicks off 'unlimited' GoPhone plan

AT&T peeled back the covers today on a new monthly unlimited plan for its GoPhone subscriber base.

The plans, which goes into effect on October 7, gives users 1GB of data on top of unlimited texting and talking and costs $65 per month. According to AT&T, the plan costs $10 less than the previous iteration of the rate and will be offered alongside the $50 unlimited talk and texting option.

AT&T has also unveiled its latest Android smartphone under the GoPhone brand, the Huawei-made Fusion 2, which cleared the FCC in July.

AT&T's Z221 GoPhone

The AT&T Z221 is the latest prepaid flip phone to enter AT&T's GoPhone portfolio. A quad-band world phone, the ZTE-made Z221 has a 2-inch internal screen with a QVGA display (320x240 pixels) and a basic camera. The Z221 is a petite thing, just 3.8 inches tall, 2 inches wide, and .7-inch thick. It weighs 3.2 ounces.

AT&T starts $60 unlimited GoPhone plan

AT&T will begin providing unlimited voice and text for $60 a month as part of its GoPhone prepaid service, the company announced Friday. Other prepaid plans from Boost Mobile and MetroPCS, for example, are around $50 a month or less, but the $60 a month plan still sounds pretty good.

The plan also includes unlimited texting to Canada, Mexico, and a hundred other countries. AT&T will start offering the service on October 12.

AT&T's GoPhone now has unlimited calling for $3 a day

Most prepaid phone services deal in minute allotments so that you're paying X number of dollars for X number of minutes. AT&T, however, is breaking that convention with a new prepaid calling option that offers unlimited nationwide calls for $3 a day. It'll be part of a new AT&T GoPhone plan without any roaming or long-distance fees and is yet another option for the "Pay as you go" model.
