Getting started with Path

Path recently announced it has reached 10 million users, and is now growing at 1 million users per week. The total number of users is low, especially when compared with Facebook's numbers, but don't let that fool you.

Path is a useful social platform, especially for those who aren't about sharing with large groups of friends, but instead keep a smaller list of friends to share personal moments with. With the growing popularity, you're likely to see posts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, and even Foursquare.

Taking apart the Pebble smartwatch proved a challenge for the folks at iFixit, so it's definitely not something you'd want to try at home.

Prying the watch apart, iFixit found a lot of adhesive designed to keep out water. Opening the watch cracked its face, though, so Pebble owners … Read more

GetCocoon doesn't live up to its promise

A lot of people don't realize that browsing the Web on your smartphone can be just as dangerous as browsing the Web on your PC. Your phone is just as susceptible to malware as your computer. GetCocoon is a browser for your phone that offers you a layer of protection. However, we found its performance spotty, and the lack of privacy options for unpaid members left a lot to be desired.

When getting started, you have the option of logging in with a username and password, or selecting the Browse Without Logging In option. We selected the latter option, … Read more

You don't have to wait long for Monday's CNET Update:

Sales of the Nintendo Wii U system began Sunday, following a midnight launch event at the Nintendo World store in New York. But anyone getting a Wii U will need some patience before getting started. A required 5GB firmware update can take an hour or two to download, but be sure to not turn it off once the update has begun! Some users that turned off the console before the download was complete have "bricked" the machine and need to exchange it for a new one. … Read more
