With explosive drums, fuzzed-out guitars, and Wolfmother-style vocals, YB's first English-language single, "Cigarette Girl," might finally break YB in the West. Though already regarded as the Bon Jovi of South Korea, YB has not made much of a dent stateside -- unless you happened to catch the band at one of its sold-out 2006 NYC performances or at its acclaimed 2007 SXSW showcase. Under new manager Doug Goldstein, who formerly managed Guns N' Roses, Danzig, and Blind Melon, they just might make it here. As YB prepared for its first US mini-tour in seven years, frontman Do-Hyun … Read more
Hair, makeup, and gender-bending fashions aside, what singer/songwriter Boy George does best is write a prime pop tune. I'm thinking about chart-topping '80s singles like "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," "Time (Clock of the Heart)," "I'll Tumble 4 Ya," "Church of the Poison Mind," "Karma Chameleon," "Miss Me Blind," "It's a Miracle," and "The War Song." His later, more dance-oriented solo material and DJ gigs won a club following.
With the March 25 release of "This Is … Read more
Pebble recently announced an update to the software running on the Pebble smartwatch. The update, PebbleOS version 1.14.1, brings normal bug fixes and optimizations to the watch, but it also brings some new features. Most notable of the new features is the ability to set a do-not-disturb schedule, silencing the watch during that time.
This is a feature that iOS users will be familiar with, as it's built into iOS itself, but Do Not Disturb being activated on iOS did not prevent the alerts from showing up on the watch. I personally started turning my watch off … Read more
Given that the popular to-do list app Any.do has a simple, polished design, it's no surprise that the company's new calendar app, Cal, would also be visually stunning. Cal uses Any.do's simple aesthetic, but adds a library of impressive photos to jazzy up your boring calendar.

Then again, blocking cookies doesn't necessarily prevent sites from tracking you. The Electronic Frontier Foundation's Micah Lee explained in a June blog post on Deeplinks that when you open a Web page, your browser retrieves elements from many third-party servers.
If you haven't upgraded your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iOS 7 yet, I have only one question: What are you waiting for?
That's not to say the new version of Apple's mobile OS is perfect. Here are four iOS 7 privacy settings you may want to review.
1. Clear and disable Frequent Locations Some people don't mind Apple tracking their location and retaining a history of the places where they use their iOS 7 devices. The rest of us have to disable the mobile OS's Frequent Locations feature, which is enabled by default.… Read more
Do is a free productivity app for the iPhone that incorporates a number of well-designed features you'd normally only ever see in a paid app. The result is a fun, easy-to-use, and generally very streamlined task management and productivity tool that will work well for most iOS users in need of a new app for managing their tasks.
When you first start Do, you are given a short tutorial on how to add new tasks, mark them as complete, and navigate between screens. This takes only a few seconds, but you are also required to create an account that … Read more
Organize Me Personal Task Manager & To Do List is a powerful organizational tool for your iPhone that allows you to keep track of various tasks, save photos and voice to a note, and more. When you open the app for the first time, you are greeted with a tutorial screen that offers to show you how to use the majority of the … Read more
