2013 Subaru BRZ Limited: Believe (most of) the hype

Take a moment and mentally process all of the hype surrounding the launch of the 2013 Subaru BRZ. Go on, I'll wait. Now take that hype and dial it back to 80 percent. That's how good the Subaru BRZ is. It's not the second coming or the messiah for performance driving -- it's not perfect -- but it is quite good.

The B in BRZ should stand for "balanced" because that's exactly what Subaru's new rear drive coupe is. This car is all about balance with a near 50-50 weight distribution between … Read more

Hyundai Elantra Coupe drops a pair of doors, GT gains one

The Elantra Touring version of Hyundai's previous-generation compact was (and remains) one of our favorite small, cheap wagons.

So, we're not surprised to see a five-door variant of the current-generation Hyundai Elantra debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. What you may not have seen coming was the coupe version of Hyundai's fluidically sculptured sedan but that, too, was unwrapped at the show.

The Elantra Coupe doesn't differ dramatically from the Elantra Sedan we tested last year. In fact, about the only measurable differences are the removal of a pair of doors and the addition of … Read more

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe goes for the full monty on Facebook

Just days after Hyundai gave us our first official teaser for the redesigned Genesis Coupe, the automaker goes and gives us the full monty on its worldwide Facebook page.

The wider shots give us a full view of the new, Veloster-fied front end. This is also the clearest looks yet at the hood sculpting and vents. It's difficult to tell whether those vents are functional, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more form than function to be found there. We can also get an idea of how the new front end will work with the rest … Read more

Official Hyundai blog shows off 2013 Genesis Coupe

Depending on your opinion of Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language, the 2013 Genesis Coupe is either about to get a lot better-looking or much worse.

On the automaker's Korean-language blog, the clearest shots yet of the next iteration of the sportiest Hyundai can be found. The frontal shot clearly shows off the new, more Veloster-like front end that we got a blurry look at some time ago. LED fog lamps are also visible in the shot beneath the ornate headlamps.

A rear shot showcases a new spoiler, new organically styled taillamps, and what looks like sensors for a … Read more
