Get rid of resource-intensive Flash content

Everyone loves surfing the Web, but most people do not enjoy intrusive ads. The ClickToFlash for Mac plug-in makes your browsing experience more fluid and less distracting, but does not compromise content accessibility.

Once installed, ClickToFlash for Mac will automatically prevent Flash content from loading and try to convert it to a HTML5 equivalent. The installation part can't be easier, as it takes one click to install this plug-in. Save time and keystrokes with Click.to

We are most definitely in favor of anything that saves us time and keystrokes when using the computer, but we usually find that software meant to increase our efficiency ends up being more trouble than it's worth. Advanced plug-in blocking appears in Chrome dev

A new method for blocking approved plug-ins from third-party sources appeared in the developer's version of Google's Chrome browser. Anyone clicking on music videos at the site may notice a Visa logo inserted in the click-to-buy overlay that appears at the bottom of the video.

The spot is a choice position for brand advertising and is reflective of YouTube's continued efforts to find new--and hopefully profitable--advertising methods.

YouTube has long said that there won't be one way to turn the Web's largest video site into a profitable venture. Google, YouTube's parent company, has launched numerous ad … Read more

Jaxtr makes click-to-call really, really simple (updated)

There's a new click-to-call service launching soon: Jaxtr. Like Jangl, Jaxtr is a way station for phone calls that gives the person being called a lot of control over who can reach them.

The Jaxtr team is pitching its widget technology as the main differentiator of the service. Each Jaxtr user can put a box on their blog or their social network page that allows anyone to connect to them by phone. The reader puts in their phone number, and then Jaxtr calls both parties and connects them. Or--more likely for Jaxtr widgets posted on blog pages--Jaxtr connects the … Read more
