Evidence suggests that Apple could be assembling some of the new iMacs in Fremont, Calif.

Two U.S. models that 9to5Mac traced originated in the San Jose area.

"One tipster's origination pickup point was briefly visible as Fremont CA so it would appear that iMac assembly is happening in that general vicinity," the Mac enthusiast site said.

Another possible location for an assembly operation would be Elk Grove, Calif., where Apple still has operations. But, so far, there's no hard evidence that units are being assembled there.

The company was at the CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show, and we learned it has plans to launch a whole system of special-effect lenses and accessories for its flagship case soon.

In addition to the fisheye and macro lenses already available, future attachments will include tele, wide, tunnel effector, mirage, and circular polarizing special-effects filters. Dell has hired John Swainson, former CEO of CA, as president of its new software group.

Reporting directly to Dell CEO Michael Dell, Swainson will lead the new group with a mission to sell products and services to large enterprises as the company continues to expand beyond the PC business.

Dubbed CA's Mr. Fix-It in a CNET story from 2005, Swainson has been credited with turning around and expanding his former company, a talent Dell undoubtedly hopes he can bring to his new position.

Fans of vintage cameras can now dress their iPhones in Gizmon's iCA case, which makes the handset look like a Leica rangefinder camera. The iCA case also comes with some useful functions, such as the ability to capture images via the case's shutter button and frame the scene with its optical viewfinder.

Made of polycarbonate, the $65 case also has a lens mount for users to swap four lenses, a tripod socket for long exposures, and strap lugs for you to loop your handset on a neck strap like a regular camera.

An entire system of accessories is currently in the works, with the company looking into developing attachments such as special-effects filters, an external flash, and a car accessory stand, to name a few.
