iPhone 6: Most-wanted features

The next iPhone -- or iPhones -- will most likely be released this fall, around a year after the iPhone 5 made its debut.

Will it be called the iPhone 6? Probably not. Rumor has it that Apple most likely will trot out the iPhone 5S, which will look cosmetically the same as the iPhone 5 but have some upgrades on the inside (see our regularly updated iPhone 5S rumor roundup page to get the latest rumors).

But whatever it is called I do have a wish list for what I'd like it to have.

Huawei Ascend P6: Meet Huawei's new, super-skinny smartphone

Earlier this year, Huawei impressed us with its super-skinny Ascend P2, but now the up-and-coming Chinese firm is looking to wow us a second time with the Ascend P6, a similar Android smartphone with a few hardware tweaks.

Huawei is fond of crafting creepily thin phones, and the P6 is no exception, measuring a slender 6.18 millimeters (0.24-inch) thick. The aluminium edges are very reminiscent of the iPhone, but the bottom of the phone is rounded, giving the P6 a tiny bit of original flair.

Like the P2, the P6 sports a 4.7-inch 720p display, and plays … Read more

AT&T adds wireless emergency alerts update to iPhones

AT&T announced that it is rolling out wireless emergency alerts to all of its U.S. customers that have an iPhone 5 or 4S.

This means that anytime there is a government-issued safety announcement, like when there's natural or man-made disaster, a presidential alert, or an Amber alert for a missing child, a message will pop up on users iPhones explaining what's happening.

Such alerts are critical for getting information out to people who aren't immediately tuned into a television or radio, and would have been helpful during disasters such as the floods from Hurricane … Read more

Review: Wunderlist is a premium-grade, to-do list manager with many features

Wunderlist is a fantastic example of streamlined, intuitive design being used to provide a powerful, feature-rich experience for productivity junkies. While other GTD and list-keeping apps can cost a small fortune for iOS, Wunderlist is free. Despite that, it operates much like a paid app and works seamlessly on your device, Mac, or PC.

Wunderlist offers a number of features, but its core attraction is list creation. When it opens, you will need to register for an account or connect via Facebook. From there, you can start creating lists and on those lists you can create tasks. The pull-out side … Read more

Review: Audio Memos Free provides a clean interface and basic recording tools

Audio Memos Free is a fairly basic voice recorder without a lot of frills or added features, but with a solid, smooth performance that will work well for most casual users. Power users might want more, but the voice recording and editing functions here are all well-built and make for a solid, well-rounded, free app that outperforms many other free voice recorders, including the built-in tool that comes on all iPhones.

When you first open the app you can immediately start recording. You can change quite a few settings, as well, including the amplification, normalization, name, and quality of the … Read more

Apple looking at 5.7-inch iPhone, claims report

Apple is exploring iPhones as large as 5.7 inches, as it feels the heat from large-screen rivals, according to Reuters.

The company is considering the introduction of "at least two bigger iPhones next year," the report said.

One could sport a 4.7-inch screen and the other a 5.7-incher, Reuters said, citing sources in the Asia supply chain.

"Suppliers have been approached with plans for the larger screens," the report claimed, adding that the move is "still under discussion."

The motive appears to be a growing need to respond to large-screen smartphones … Read more

Review: Max Registry Cleaner safely scans, cleans, & repairs the Windows registry

Max Registry Cleaner keeps your registry neat and error-free by optimizing your computer's performance in a few interesting ways. The program performs well and offers some cool scheduling features.

You need a phone number, e-mail, and your … Read more
