The latest update to Google Maps is rolling out some important new features. Multiple destinations is the highlight of the update, finally adding back a feature that existed before the last major update. The new update also adds reservation searches for restaurants, flights and hotels, but the most fun new feature might be the Upcoming Events cards.
Using Google Maps, you can now search for your favorite venue and see what events are coming up there. What's even cooler is searching an entire area for upcoming events.
To search for upcoming musical events near you, search for "music … Read more
The new Corvette has arrived and it's both remarkably modern and thoroughly vintage Vette, right down to some quaintly old-school tech under the hood. I think you'll enjoy our drive and walkaround tour of what they've done to create this seventh-generation car.
I've been getting a number of e-mails lately about hydrogen fuel cell cars (i.e., what ever happened to them) and CNG natural gas cars. So we're taking on the basics of each starting … Read more
The news-packed 2013 Frankfurt auto show has only just begun to cool and we're already starting to get previews of the upcoming 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Sweet.
Kicking off in November, SEMA is known as one of the (if not THE) largest aftermarket automotive shows and is home to some of the craziest customs that you'll ever hope to see. So, it's only fitting that the first preview to make its way to my inbox is a 1,000-horsepower Hyundai Genesis Coupe tuned by Bisimoto Engineering.
TOKYO -- File this one under "problems you didn't know you had till now." The Goron tablet cushion from Japan lets you use your handheld device longer while lying down as it takes away the difficult task of holding said device. Basically a cushion with an adjustable arm, the Goron lets you clamp something as small as a smartphone to a monitor for your game console so you can look at the screen with your head comfortably on the cushion.

Xbox One owners are scheduled to get more TV shows airing on the upcoming game console.

"We are very close" to announcing similar projects before year-end, Microsoft Studios Vice President Phil Spencer said in an interview in Tokyo on Wednesday, according to Reuters. Microsoft has promised TV content exclusive to the Xbox One unrelated to games, but Spencer believes "there will be a certain level of interactivity to … Read more
Last week Apple made big claims about the photo capabilities of its new flagship phone, the iPhone 5S, and Monday was one of the first chances to see it in action outside of the company's press event.
Fashion brand Burberry used the phone -- which goes on sale this Friday -- to capture stills, videos, and celebrity snapshots at its Spring/Summer fashion show, which took place earlier today in London.
In the upper reaches of automotive performance, the hybrid sports car is becoming a real thing. Witness the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, and McLaren P1. Those examples seem like efforts to maintain the relevance of high-end performance in an oil-starved world.
But BMW may just be cracking the code with its i8.
Unlike the competition, which tend toward evolutionary changes built from existing models, BMW designed the i8 as a wholly new car, constructed from the ground on up to exemplify performance and minimal fossil fuel consumption. And deviating from the i3 model, its sibling in BMW's new … Read more
Improvements to the common car tire have occurred incrementally since its inception, but over the next decade, the average rubber roller may become a thing of the past. Hankook (and other manufacturers such as Michelin and Bridgestone) are prepping next-generation tires that are airless, recyclable, and quite odd looking.
Shown at this year's International Motor Show in Frankfurt, the Hankook i-Flex radically differs from the norm by combining a tire and wheel together into a single object. The spinner doesn't need any air to roll, which means no more flats or unexpected accidents.… Read more
