HTC will once again partner with Google to produce a Nexus device, or so suggests a new Taiwanese report.
According to unnamed sources close to the Commercial Times, HTC has won the rights to create a "high-end" Nexus tablet for release in the third quarter. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of this particular rumor. HTC, for its part, is remaining understandably tight-lipped on the subject.
HTC plans to begin selling a wearable device by year's end, HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang told Bloomberg, confirming long-standing rumors that the troubled handset maker will jump into the wearable computing fray.
"Many years ago we started looking at smartwatches and wearables, but we believe that we really have to solve the battery problems and the LCD light problems," Wang said in an interview Tuesday. "These are customer-centric problems."
The account of the interview offered no specifics on what consumers could expect or when. CNET has contacted HTC for more information and will update this … Read more

For Google, one advantage of selling Motorola to Lenovo for $2.91 billion is that it creates two big dogs in the Android ecosystem: Samsung and Lenovo. Lenovo has the scale to compete with Samsung eventually. Today, Lenovo is working on its supply chain efficiencies as it tackles emerging markets. … Read more
