Upload Android videos to YouTube in five steps

Apple adds iPad support to MobileMe Gallery app

Apple today released an update for its MobileMe Gallery app, bringing full support for the iPad.

MobileMe Gallery is an app that allows subscribers to Apple's Internet services to view their MobileMe photo galleries. It also enables users to view any movies and video clips they may have stored on MobileMe.

NASA brings historic photos to Flickr Commons

NASA is now providing images detailing its early years on Flickr's Commons archive, the space agency announced on Monday.

NASA's new Commons page displays nearly 200 photos taken throughout the venerable organization's early history. They're arranged in three photo sets, including "Building NASA," "Launch/Takeoff," and "NASA Center Namesakes."

Microsoft's Messenger gets chatty with Facebook

As of Tuesday, Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger users will now be able to send instant messages to Facebook friends who are logged into the social-networking service.

Microsoft is the first of the major instant-messaging services to connect directly to Facebook Chat. It's part of an effort by the folks in Redmond to evolve Messenger from purely an instant-messaging program to a social hub with activity feeds, video chat, and other connection options.

Movie Gallery, the once powerhouse video-rental chain, went bankrupt last spring and is now trying to sell off such assets as trademarks, URLs, and proprietary technology.

Microsoft updating Windows Live apps

Microsoft on Wednesday outlined a series of improvements it's making to its Windows Live set of downloadable programs for managing photos and videos and keeping files in sync.

With no major update to Windows coming this year, Microsoft is counting on improvements to Windows Live to help boost the appeal of Windows for this year's holiday shopping season.

"We're refreshing Windows 7 with a new suite of apps," general manager Brian Hall said in a telephone interview.
