First Impressions: iPhone 3.0 on the original iPhone

Like most of the Apple fanboys out there, I anxiously awaited the arrival of the latest iPhone software upgrade to 3.0. And, like my fellow nerds, I continuously clicked the "Check for Updates" button in iTunes starting around 9:55 a.m. Pacific (in case Apple released the update early). Mophie Juice Pack touches the iPod 2G

If you've been waiting for the Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 3G, it's still not out yet. However, you can now get Mophie's latest Juice Pack for the iPod Touch 2G that the company announced on March 19.

The new Juice Pack gives iPod Touch owners twice as much time to use their player for music, video, or surfing the Internet. According to Mophie, the pack will give the iPod Touch 2G up to an additional 42 hours of music playback and up to 7 hours of video playback.

AT&T 3G Upgrades Reportedly Degrade EDGE Service

AT&T has been very vocal about its efforts to rapidly build up its 3G voice and data network. Samsung and InterDigital reach 3G and 2G settlement

Samsung and wireless technology provider InterDigital have reached a settlement in their long-running patent dispute involving 3G and 2G technologies, InterDigital announced Monday.

Under the agreement, Samsung will receive a royalty-bearing license to cover all of its 3G products through 2012. The agreement, which also resolves a dispute over Samsung's royalty obligations for its 2G sales, will also include products built on WCDMA and cdma2000 standards and related extensions.

First Look: iPod Classic 2G

Apple didn't make much of a fuss over the second-generation upgrade to their iPod Classic, but there are a few details worth noting. First off, Apple has discontinued their 80GB and monstrous 160GB models and now offers only a single version of the Classic packed with 120GB of storage for $249. We may hear some grumblings from file-hoarders and lossless audio fans about the discontinued 160GB model, but 120GB is still an impressive amount of space for your music and video collection.
