I've had a love affair with high-tech watches for as long as I can remember. I still recall with fondness my beloved Casio Marlin W-300, which I cherished as a tot. I've also proudly worn some truly laughable devices out in public, much to my friends' annoyance and eventual entertainment. Remember the Pimp series from Tokyo Flash? On second thought, perhaps it's better that you don't. … Read more
Orchestrating the construction of a whole meal is an endeavor that requires timing and patience. After the perfect combination of that classic trilogy of protein, vegetable and starch has been decided upon, the next task is to prepare it. With finding balance such an important aspect of meal-making before and during the event, a kitchen gadget that can help tie everything together in the race to the finish line, is a welcome addition to the kitchen. Especially if it knows how to subtract.
If you have a baby, you have your hands full. Mixing up formula takes time and care is required to get it down to the right temperature. For a $149 pledge on Indiegogo, you can hand that duty off to a kitchen gadget.
The Piena Tender Touch baby formula maker is like a coffee maker for infants. The fact that coffee can have a bitter taste to some is a reality that requires an obvious solution: take out the bitter. Naturally, there are a lot of solutions that seem to be out there. I didn't like the Nexus 4 when it came out about a year ago. No LTE? Not for me! But now that you can no longer buy it, I have a new appreciation of what it was. A good little smartphone at a fantastic price. Will the Nexus 5 give us the same and more? I sure hope so.
Staring at the coffee maker as it performs its daily duty is a tradition long held not-so-dear to the precaffeinated; waiting for the coffee to finish brewing is no fun. However, that doesn't mean it has to be dull. Just because a traditional drip coffee maker hides the action behind an opaque filter holder doesn't mean that something exciting isn't happening behind the scenes, right?
Usually, it does mean just that. Hot water drips into ground coffee beans and out comes coffee. Bo-ring. Considering the lack of caffeine for the viewer, it is probably better to watch … Read more

Every day has to start somewhere. For millions of Americans, nothing happens until the coffeemaker kicks into action. The dark elixir that is coffee fuels us forward with the all-important first caffeine jolt of the day. Others prefer a bite before heading into action; for them, perhaps the toaster is the first appliance of the day. Then, of course, there are those who must attend to more practical matters first: recharging the phone because of forgetting to plug it in.
