Remember The Task is a lightweight client that allows users to access and manage their Remember The Milk tasks. The program isn't the most intuitive thing we've ever seen, but with a bit of practice, we found it to be a nice way to keep an eye on your to-do list without having Remember The Milk open in your browser.
The program's interface is quite basic, just a small, resizable rectangle that displays the upcoming tasks you've entered in Remember The Milk. You can create new tasks, edit existing ones, and postpone tasks or mark them … Read more
AllNotes Personal Organizer provides a simple set of tools for keeping track of a date and staying on top of events. The program's bare-bones simplicity and easy navigation make this a great choice for basic reminders.
We enjoyed the program's simple interface. It buries itself in your task bar and only has a few, easy-to-understand command options. Nothing about it left us with questions about how to operate this software. With a few simple clicks, we were able to enter dates and times, write ourselves a quick note, set an alarm, or post a note or event on … Read more
Organizer from Miha Rataj is just the sort of handy freeware we like to see. It's a simple but efficient and effective desktop organization application that combines a suite of tools and displays in one easy-to-use interface. It has a scrolling, configurable calendar, a prominent analog clock face, a daily task organizer, sticky notes, and an alarm clock that you can sync to tasks and that will alert to an impending event with an alarm tone, the time, or something you add yourself.
The main interface is cleanly laid out, with everything neatly spaced around the task organizer window … Read more
LeaderTask is an attractive and intuitive time management program that allows people to keep track of tasks and projects. With a well-designed interface and useful features, LeaderTask is among the better programs of this type that we've seen.
LeaderTask's interface is sleek and well-organized, reminding us a lot of Microsoft Outlook. A toolbar on the left organizes projects, categories, contacts, and a calendar, while large graphical buttons across the top display other options. Smaller unlabeled buttons within the program have tool tips, which is a thoughtful touch. The program is easy to navigate, and we had little need … Read more
Easy Tracker Standard provides the tools for tracking time and managing projects. Unfortunately, the program doesn't flow smoothly, even with all its attempts at being helpful.
This program opened with a seemingly simple five-step Wizard, which instantly excited us. We were able to jump between the five tasks represented in the Wizard, but we still needed a trip to the Help file and glossary for further instruction. The misnamed Easy Tracker perplexed us. It looks easy, but it constantly confused us. One bright spot were the tools for building databases of Clients and Users, which were simple and reminded … Read more
RoboTask aims to help users eliminate the need to endlessly repeat complex tasks by automatically doing them for you. While its intentions are good, we were constantly concerned that setup was more difficult than the actual task, which led us to question its time-saving value.
We immediately went to the program's instructional Help file because its interface is jumbled and full of unfamiliar command icons. Unfortunately, the Help file's instructions seem to be written for people who already understand the program and thus weren't very useful to a newcomer. We needed to experiment for a while to … Read more
ToDoList provides a set of easy-to-use tools for monitoring several tasks and due dates. The program's efficient layout is designed to keep users informed of progress and upcoming deadlines on everything from simple tasks to major projects.
The program is a little intimidating to start off with, since it's really not much more than a blank screen with a lot of strange-looking command icons. Fortunately, the Help file's tutorial quickly gets you on track. Populating the list took only a few minutes. You can make notes, set due dates, mark your progress, and color-code everything. Completed lists … Read more
Pimero Free Edition is a sleek personal organizer that allows users to keep track of appointments, tasks, and more. The program's attractive design and intuitive use make it a great choice for this type of program.
Pimero's interface is among the best we've seen, with a modern, sophisticated design. The program's major functions are organized into tabs, including sections for the calendar, tasks, notes, and contacts. The calendar offers multiple customizable views, as well as reminders and a search feature. Tasks can be organized with settings for priority, deadline, and percentage complete. The program doesn't … Read more
Gantt Chart is a simple tool for organizing a personal schedule. Its easy operation and familiar look will help anyone juggling a lot of events and appointments.
The program's interface was instantly comforting. Using a similar setup and color scheme to Microsoft Outlook, we intuitively navigated through even the program's non-Outlook elements. The program's default layout gave us a large bar-chart-style planner outlining our events and their times. Daily appointments were a breeze to schedule, thanks to the wizard-like menu detailing everything from time, place, and percentage of the task complete. We were also happy that the … Read more
