Fitbit, a company that provides wearable fitness technology, is getting ready to launch a new band to act as its flagship offering, according to a new report.

The device will come with an altimeter to measure a person's altitude and a "Floors" feature to identify how many flights of stairs a person has climbed in a given period of time, according to The … Read more
Earlier this year, I set out on a grand journey. I tested several activity trackers all at once, to decide which was the best in accuracy and in motivating me to lose a few pounds. Today, they sit unused on my desk. And I weigh pretty much the same.
What happened? For one, perhaps no one should try to use four activity trackers at the same time. Trying to stay on top of how they all compared ended up feeling like exercise itself.
But ultimately, I perhaps lost my motivation to be motivated by these devices by knowing too much … Read more
Improvements to the common car tire have occurred incrementally since its inception, but over the next decade, the average rubber roller may become a thing of the past. Hankook (and other manufacturers such as Michelin and Bridgestone) are prepping next-generation tires that are airless, recyclable, and quite odd looking.
Shown at this year's International Motor Show in Frankfurt, the Hankook i-Flex radically differs from the norm by combining a tire and wheel together into a single object. The spinner doesn't need any air to roll, which means no more flats or unexpected accidents.… Read more
Smartphones -- and the iPhone in particular -- are the Swiss Army knives of tech. And now, with the introduction of the iPhone 5S, another product category may well be on the chopping block: health trackers.

For this season's round of giveaways, we'll start it off with the Kindle Paperwhite. After being named "the classic beach device," this thing almost handled itself in the face of turmoil. While the sun, heat, and lava rock were mostly a breeze, the Kindle fell at the hands of the Pacific Ocean. If a lucky new owner can somehow get the thing working again, we'd love to see it live long enough to pump out one more good read.
