Eyeing online sales across 500 retailers on December 25 and 26, IBM's latest holiday benchmark report found a surge in cybershopping from mobile devices.

iOS and Android both saw a huge number of device activations on Christmas, but Apple may have outshined its mobile rival by about 1.6 million, says Fortune columnist Philip Elmer-DeWitt.
Following the trail of breadcrumbs to arrive at his estimate, Elmer-DeWitt first pointed to a Tuesday report from mobile analytics firm Flurry. iOS and Android devices combined generated 6.8 million activations on December 25, according to Flurry.

This news--directly from the mouth of Google--follows yesterday's report from Flurry that Apple iOS and Android devices combined recorded 6.8 million activations on Christmas Day alone. That … Read more

Drumming is the theme with this project from YouTube user BD594 in Toronto. BD has rigged an old HP flatbed scanner and a robotic snare drum to crank out a charming version of the Christmas classic "The Little Drummer Boy."
If Ford engineers had their way, Santa Claus would be delivering packages to all the good girls and boys on Christmas Eve in a Ford sleigh concept.
The muscle car-inspired, bright-red, concept sleigh is powered by a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and boasts 125 horsepower, with 170Nm peak torque (with 200Nm overboost)--giving it the highest power density of any Ford production engine to date.
Ford engineers apparently presented the concept sleigh design to Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with its environmental and cost-saving advantages.
