I hope someone could PLEASE help me. I feel SO ripped off. How can I tell if a credit card machine sold to us is refurbished? Last month we switched credit card merchant companys to a so called friend of ours. They charged us $500.00 + shipping for a machine and it took 2 and half weeks to get to my store. Now I see that a brand new cc machine exactly like the one we have is $189.00 + the pinpad is between $50.00 & $60.00 (some friend). Anyway, starting this Saturday the machine was not working. We had to call tech support several times. On one of those calls the lady said to me, "I see that this is a refurbished machine you got from a car dealership". Of course you can imagine my shock. The tech person tried to back peddal, but it was out. I do beleive this machine is refurbished for severl reason. One, it took so long to get here. I can order one today and get it here with free shipping, in 3 days. Two, there was absolutely NO paperwork in the box. Not a manuel, instructions, nothing. I asked this friend about this and she said, "no, you don't need anything, just plug it in". Now I see that you can order the manuel for this machine on line. Oh, guess the main reason I think it's refurbished is because the things not working! So, can anyone give us any info? Would REALLY appreciate the help. Thank you for your time.
