Manage updates with the Download App
I transferred data from an old computer to a new one using Files and Settings Transfer Wizard in Windows XP. Now when I try to access the files on the new computer, I get a pop up message that says "The item you selected is unavailable. It might have been moved, renamed or removed. Do you want to remove it from the list?" Any suggestions for what I do now to make the data accessible?

In general I would say:
(1) On your old computer, copy it to a USB-stick.
(2) From that USB-stick copy it to the new computer.
But it's unclear what files it are and how you try to access them. I've never seen Windows Explorer seen giving a message about a 'list' when clicking it to open it. What kind of files are it, and what list is it?
And, by the way, this seems a good moment to start thinking about BACKUP. With a good backup, you never lose files. People without backup seem to lose data once in a while.

when you "transferred data" from the old machine to the new one.
Check to see if the icons on the new machine have little arrows on them.
Little arrows = Short Cut
