Manage updates with the Download App
I have a computer that I have open office spreadsheet on. I want to be able to view and make changes to on this computer and another computer in the next room and the capability from far away.. I was told to go with Google Docs. I"ve downloaded Google Docs. I have read the help section. I have finally come here. Will someone please help me? They tell you you can download a document by going to the file menu and doing other stuff. First I want to know where you are supposed to go to download? I do not find a documents tab. Am I supposed to be in google drive or gmail or where? I saw references where it was confusing and I do not know. I finally found out that I may need to chane my ods files into google doc files or format. Where do I start from_ google drive google docs or gmail or elsewhere?

Start by upgrading to LibreOffice.

I never "downloaded" Google Docs. It's a web site and not an app here.

Sorry for the confusion when I said I downloaded google docs. I should have said I am " trying to use" google docs. I would have thought everybody would have known what I meant. Thanks anyway, but I still need help with my question.

Have downloaded Chrome and called that google docs. I can't guess why they thought that.

For me to take a document from my PC and use it on Google Docs I have to upload it to google docs.
There is a cheap way out of this. Open your document like you normally do. Do the usual Control+A and Control+C to copy it to the clipboard. Start a new Google document and then in that document press Control+V

I use DropBox for some of what you are asking. Try that too.
